The latest on the presidential horse race.

Battle of the Deplorables Results in a Stalemate

The latest general election poll by the LA Times/USC Tracking has revealed that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are caught in a stalemate.

Which presidential candidate would you vote for?

  • Donald Trump – 44%
  • Hillary Clinton – 44%

Trump has a lot of power in the election right now. For the first time in what seems like the entire election, the spotlight isn’t on him. Instead, his rival, Clinton, has been in the spotlight for good and bad. This has provided Trump with the perfect opportunity to choose his path and to distract voters from the insane things he has said in the past.

Based on recent events, Trump could continue pushing Clinton on the “basket of deplorables” comment, he could question her health based on the fact that she fainted during a 9/11 memorial, or he could paint himself as a respectable individual and wish her well.

For Clinton, this has been an uncharacteristic week of weakness for her. Clinton has been fairly quiet for most of the campaign, trying to hide from the fallout from her email scandal, but this week saw her thrust into the spotlight, caught saying something questionable, and it was all topped off with a major incident that has left many questioning her health. On top of that, many Republican critics were already throwing around health conspiracies, meaning that her fainting spell will only add fuel to those flames.

Regardless, the coming weeks and upcoming debates should help Clinton recover and it will be a true test of skill for Trump, who appears to be a lot less skilled when it comes to debates.
