Carson Tops Trump in the Latest Poll From Michigan
The latest Michigan primary by MRG has revealed that Ben Carson has officially overtaken Donald Trump in a major poll. Carson had a respectable performance at the second debate despite the fact that Trump enjoyed the majority of the air time.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Ben Carson – 24%
- Donald Trump – 22%
- Jeb Bush – 8%
- Marco Rubio – 4%
- Carly Fiorina – 3%
- Ted Cruz – 3%
Carson was articulate and hit all the points on the head during the debate on Wednesday. Trump’s performance was defensive in nature and saw him either attacking his opponents or retaliating to their comments. Critics declared Trump the winner, but this is only partially the truth since he received the majority of the air time.
The other major Republican candidates came out flat or were unimpressive. Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, and several other Republican candidates failed to offer any interesting viewpoints and only churned out the same Republican rhetoric towards popular issues. Trump stuck to his arrogant approach towards topics, while Carson remained calm and articulate.
John Kasich was surprisingly well spoken and approached several of the major issues with political swagger. However, he dropped the ball on the Planned Parenthood question and was given very little time to speak in general.
Overall, the Republican vote is still a battle between Carson and Trump. None of the other candidates will likely challenge them and Trump’s ignorance still hasn’t managed to damage his credibility or his overall performance in the polls.
