Clinton Decimates Sanders in South Carolina
The latest South Carolina poll by Monmouth revealed that Hillary Clinton holds a commanding lead over Bernie Sanders.
Which Democratic candidate would you vote for?
- Hillary Clinton – 69%
- Bernie Sanders – 21%
Every week, Clinton solidifies her lead and continues to push Sanders down further in the polls. Clinton is the definition of an establishment Democrat. Her positions are bland, centrist, and in most cases, she is unwilling to take a stance that is risky. However, with the emergence of Sanders, Clinton has been forced to leave her comfort zone and to take a notable stance on important issues like campaign finance and gun control.
Sanders may be down in the polls, but he is still a worthy candidate and someone that could steal the nomination at the eleventh hour. Sanders is a true progressive, a socialist by label, but a man who values his voters and wants to reform the United States. Sanders isn’t an establishment Democrats, in fact, he is the complete opposite. His platform dips into both sides of the political spectrum, but he focuses the breadth of it on worker’s rights and equality. If Sanders wants to catch Clinton, he needs to continue to build his profile and to show voters that he isn’t a lazy politician, that he doesn’t lie, and that he is truthful about the promises he is making.
