Clinton Leads Trump by 5 Points in the Latest Poll
The latest general election poll by Rasmussen Reports has placed Hillary Clinton 5 points ahead of Donald Trump.
Which presidential candidate would you vote for?
- Hillary Clinton – 44%
- Donald Trump – 39%
Poll after poll, Trump falls to Clinton. While the leads aren’t significant, the amount of polls that he continues to lose are. Trump seems unable to dent Clinton in the early stages of the election cycle. The Orlando shooting seemed like the perfect opportunity for Trump to push his anti-Muslim, pro-Christian message, but he failed to captivate voters and he actually turned a lot of voters against him with his racist rhetoric.
As for Clinton, she hasn’t really taken a major stance on any issues as of yet. She dabbled in gun control earlier in the primary cycle and credited House Democrats for Wednesday’s sit-in. On top of that, she is set to host an event in Ohio on Monday with Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a move that may suggest she is picking Warren as her vice president. If Clinton sticks to her moderate game plan, she should easily convince voters that she is the better choice over Trump.
