Clinton Leads Trump in Post-Convention Poll
With the Democratic National Convention and Republican National Convention out of the way, Hillary Clinton now leads Donald Trump by 6 points in the latest CBS Poll.
Which presidential candidate would you vote for?
- Hillary Clinton – 47%
- Donald Trump – 41%
Following the DNC, Clinton has seen a surge in her numbers. As compared to Trump, Clinton escaped her party’s convention in much better shape. Still, Clinton continues to carry an immense amount of baggage, including her email scandal, the DNC’s corruption, and more.
Regardless, Clinton should be able to build on her numbers in the polls as the majority of her baggage doesn’t influence her overall policy. For as dishonest as Clinton is, she is somewhat consistent when it comes to policy and is fairly predictable.
On the other hand, Trump’s policies remain an unknown. While he has thrown out blanket policy suggestions, he has yet to reveal how he would implement them. The majority of his policies are racist or illegal in nature, and he would have an extremely difficult time pushing them through Congress and the Senate. As for his tax proposal, he has tried to mask it like it is a major victory for the average American, but in reality, it would greatly benefit rich Americans.
Trump also continues to entangle himself in petty conflicts due to his thin skin. These feuds usually take place in the form of Twitter tantrums and short media soundbites, but nonetheless, they make him seem more like a toddler and less like the nearly 70-year-old man that he is.
