The latest on the presidential horse race.

Clinton Slightly Ahead of Trump, Johnson Makes Slight Gains

The latest general election poll by Rasmussen Reports has placed Hillary Clinton 4 points ahead of Donald Trump, while the Libertarian Party’s Gary Johnson has made slight gains.

Which presidential candidate would you vote for?

  • Hillary Clinton – 43%
  • Donald Trump – 39%
  • Gary Johnson – 9%

Both Clinton and Trump delivered detailed interviews on Wednesday that were designed to clarify their positions on many of the major issues.

Trump dropped the ball pretty hard when it came to foreign policy. In the interview, he suggested that the United States was entitled to all of Iraq’s oil because “to the victor go the spoils.” This response earned him a lot of criticism and made it look like he didn’t know what he was talking about when it comes to foreign policy.

Even Johnson suffered a massive blunder on Thursday morning when he had to ask his interviewer what Aleppo is after he was asked a foreign policy question about Syria. Naturally, Twitter exploded, mocking Johnson and making him look extremely uninformed on the Middle East.

As for Clinton, her performance in the latest interview came off as far too defensive and she responded like a lawyer numerous times. If she wants to be elected in November, she will need to find a way to appeal to the American people, something Trump is much better at doing (even if it’s not sincere).
