CNN/ORC: Trump and Clinton Crush the Competition
The latest CNN/ORC poll revealed that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton hold a massive lead over their rivals.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 36%
- Ben Carson – 14%
- Ted Cruz – 16%
- Marco Rubio – 12%
Which Democratic candidate would you vote for?
- Hillary Clinton – 58%
- Bernie Sanders – 30%
Somehow Trump is holding the lead. Blunder after blunder leaves critics thinking Trump’s reign is over, but he always stays at the top and he continues to dig himself deeper into political purgatory.
His war on Mexicans, Muslims, Jews, women, and any other group you can think of has left many moderates scratching their heads. Yet, anti-immigration and far-right voters flock to Trump and view him as the next messiah.
Second place for the Republicans is a dicey affair as of late. Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio are battling it out. Carson has been slumping in the polls and has fallen off the map as of late, while Cruz and Rubio are gaining and working hard to challenge Trump. Both Cruz and Rubio are establishment GOP candidates and it is likely that they will rise to the top should he fall.
Clinton is still dominating the Democrats. Her lead is secure and Bernie Sanders is struggling to overtake her in the polls. If Clinton continues to run a safe campaign, she should be able to edge out Sanders and head into 2016 as the Democrats candidate.
