Cruz Breathing down Trumps Neck, Only 4% Behind
Donald Trump’s campaign has something to fear. After enjoying a massive lead over his opponents for an extended period of time, Trump is now barely ahead of Sen. Ted Cruz, according to the latest poll by Qunnipiac.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 28%
- Ted Cruz – 24%
- Marco Rubio – 12%
- Ben Carson – 10%
Trump is in trouble in the polls. His bombastic style still works, but he’s already attracted the deepest fringes of the Republican Party and they are far from the majority.
On the other hand, Cruz is equally as radical as Trump. Unlike Trump, he presents it in a more palatable manner and this translates well as it allows him to attract voters from the radical and more moderate demographics.
Marco Rubio’s campaign is losing momentum fast. It’s not that he isn’t a good candidate, but the current Republican election cycle is favoring radicalism and candidates that are willing to say outrageous things. Unfortunately for Rubio, this isn’t his style. He is a calculated and intellectual candidate, and while he may try to join the outrageous commentary, it doesn’t suit him and voters can easily see this.
As for Ben Carson and Jeb Bush, they are wasting their donation money by continuing their campaigns. Neither candidate is offering anything of substance at this point. Bush is purely running off of his family’s name and hoping for a miracle that will likely never come.
