Donald Trump Edges out Clinton by 1 Point
The latest general election poll by the LA Times/USC has placed Donald Trump 1 point ahead of Hillary Clinton.
Which presidential candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 43%
- Hillary Clinton – 42%
It seems like every week, Clinton and Trump trade the lead. Trump may pull ahead in the short-term if he has a successful convention. As all the conservative voices flock to Cleveland for the 2016 Republican National Convention, in an ideal world, Trump has an opportunity to unite the Republican Party and head into the election unified.
However, being realistic, this seems highly unlikely as the early moments of the convention have been chaotic. Weird rule votes have been called, the Colorado delegation walked out, Melania Trump stole Michelle Obama’s speech from the 2008 DNC, and much more.
What about Clinton? Her key to success at the moment is to attack Trump on his flimsy policies, and nothing else. She must avoid Trump’s bully tactics at all costs as that is a losing game and will only serve to reduce her to his level. If Trump avoids talking policy, Clinton must focus on her policies and educating the American public about them and why they are better choices than anything Trump has to offer.
