Donald Trump Leads the Latest CNN Poll
The latest poll by CNN has revealed that Donald Trump is still in the lead of the Republican Party, despite the recent surge by Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 24%
- Carly Fiorina – 15%
- Ben Carson – 14%
- Marco Rubio – 11%
- Jeb Bush – 9%
- Ted Cruz – 6%
- Mike Huckabee – 6%
Trump has been slumping in the polls since the debate. His performance was respectable, but voters were attracted to Fiorina and her platform. Trump has continually assaulted Fiorina, making fun of her face and claiming that she was a bad candidate. Despite this, she deflected the criticism and made it clear that Trump was a bad leader because of his reliance on his ego.
Carson has dropped to third, but he is still very much in the race for the Republican nomination. He has slipped in the polls due to the strong performance of Fiorina. He continues to make an impression on Republican voters with his classical conservative platform, but he may struggle to win over voters from states that suffer from racial tensions and issues of prejudice.
Jeb Bush’s performance in the debate was iffy and his frequent defense of his brother’s administration may hurt his chances at being elected. Most Americans are worried about electing another Bush as it would cement the presidency as a pseudo-dynasty, something that is completely against the core values of the presidency and the U.S. Constitution.
