Iowa: Trump Leads, Cruz Gains, Carson Slumps
The latest Iowa poll by Quinnipiac has revealed that Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are the candidates to beat in Iowa.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 25%
- Ted Cruz – 23%
- Ben Carson – 18%
- Marco Rubio – 13%
- Jeb Bush – 4%
Trump continues to lead the Republican Party. He has performed very well with his racist agenda and anti-immigration platform. As of now, voters are enamored by his willingness to say whatever comes to his mind. Lately, Trump has been the focus of the media after he made several insensitive comments about Muslims and retweeted an incorrect statistic about African-American homicides that was originally tweeted by a white supremacist.
The biggest surprise in this poll was Cruz. He is a much more sensible choice for a voter who wants a Republican candidate that is knowledgeable of foreign policy. Cruz follows the party line, is a devout Christian, and knows how to play the conservative game. Unlike Trump, who at times is a buffoon, Cruz understands the intricacies of foreign policy and how to properly deal with situations, even if his solutions are conservative in nature.
Ben Carson continues to struggle in the polls. Voters are catching on to his inconsistencies and his inabilities. While Carson is a talented doctor, those skills do not automatically makes him a sound politician and his foreign policy blunders are noteworthy and something that voters should heavily consider when voting.
