Latest Poll Puts Trump 14 Points Ahead of His Opponents

The latest poll by Monmouth University has placed Donald Trump 14 points ahead of Jeb Bush. The poll analyzed the current Republican candidates and asked voters who they supported.

  • Donald Trump – 26%
  • Jeb Bush – 12.2%
  • Scott Walker – 11.1%
  • Ted Cruz – 5.8%
  • Mike Huckabee – 5.7%
  • Ben Carson – 4.6%
  • Chris Christie – 4.4%
  • Rand Paul – 4.4%
  • Marco Rubio – 4.4%

Once again, Trump leads the pack. He has consistently maintained his lead in the last few polls that we have covered. Typically, he edges out Bush and Walker by a margin of 4 to 14 percent. He continues to capitalize on his growing momentum and his outrageous comments have yet to significantly hurt his campaign. One question remains, is he a legitimate candidate or is the Republican Party in a state of disarray that exists purely for its comedic value.

In most head-to-head polls, the Democrats Hillary Clinton tends to poll well against her Republican opponents. However, if Trump wins the Republican nomination, his ultra-conservative rhetoric may help him capture the Republican vote and secure votes in states where immigration is a major issue.
