National Polls: Trump and Clinton Maintain Their Leads
The latest poll by NBC and the Wall Street Journal has placed Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the lead of their respective parties.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 21%
- Ben Carson – 20%
- Carly Fiorina – 11%
- Marco Rubio – 11%
- Jeb Bush – 7%
- Ted Cruz – 5%
Which Democratic candidate would you vote for?
- Hillary Clinton – 42%
- Bernie Sanders – 35%
- Joe Biden – 17%
Trumps time as the top contender of the Republicans may be over. Ben Carson is no suitable replacement, but he is popular amongst extreme conservatives and he is more knowledgeable on issues like foreign policy, healthcare, and other important issues beyond Trumps Mexican wall solution to immigration. Carly Fiorina, Marco Rubio, and Jeb Bush, are all fighting for third place. For now, Fiorina and Rubio hold it, but the three have been swapping third place for several weeks and will continue to do so.
Across the line, the Democrats are still led by Clinton. Bernie Sanders continues to dent her lead and is coming close to replacing her as the top candidate. In select polls, Sanders has polled better than Clinton, but he is starting to gain traction in larger polls, demonstrating that he is a legitimate candidate and that he may be able to top Clinton come nomination time.
