New Hampshire Primary: Trump and Clinton Lead the Pack

The latest political poll by NBC News / Marist Poll has revealed how the various candidates stand in the New Hampshire primaries. Coming in at the top of the Democrats was Hillary Clinton, while Donald Trump dominated the Republican vote.

Which of the Democrats would you vote for?

  • Hillary Clinton – 47%
  • Bernie Sanders – 34%
  • Martin O’Malley – 5%
  • Lincoln Chafee – 2%
  • Jim Webb – 1%
  • Undecided – 11%

One of the biggest surprises in this poll was the substantial gain by Sanders. While he still has a large gap to close, he continues to chip away and siphon voters from Clinton’s campaign. He has had such an effect on Clinton that it has forced her to actually discuss liberal issues and to break off from big business agenda.

Which of the Republicans would you vote for?

  • Donald Trump – 21%
  • Jeb Bush – 14%
  • Scott Walker – 12%
  • John Kasich – 7%
  • Chris Christie – 6%
  • Ben Carson – 6%
  • Marco Rubio – 5%
  • Ted Cruz – 5%
  • Rand Paul – 4%
  • Mike Huckabee – 3%
  • Undecided – 13%

These numbers are fairly standard for recent Republican polls. Trump continues to lead the Republicans in most polls, but he is sometimes surpassed by Bush depending on the location, and Walker continues to come in at a close third. At this point, it looks as if the Republican Party will be led by either Trump or Bush heading into the 2016 election.
