Trump and Carson Lead the Republicans in Iowa
The latest poll by CNN and ORC International has tallied the standings of the various Republican candidates in Iowa. Donald Trump continues to lead the pack and Ben Carson has made major strides in the standings.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 22%
- Ben Carson – 14%
- Scott Walker – 9%
- Ted Cruz – 8%
- Carly Fiorina – 7%
- Mike Huckabee – 7%
- Marco Rubio – 5%
- Jeb Bush – 5%
Trump once again maintains his lead. This is a common theme in almost every single Republican poll. He is well liked amongst most Republican voters, but many still question his commitment to being president.
On the other hand, Carson has emerged as a serious candidate. He is a well-educated man with a long and prestigious career as a neurosurgeon. His performance at the debate was strong and he convinced many Republican voters that he is a qualified candidate who happens to appeal to conservatives.
Jeb Bush has suffered a major setback after the debate. His performance was weak and he appeared as if he didn’t have the answers to important questions. In addition, many voters are skeptical to elect another Bush to the White House as it would signify the transition of the presidency into a pseudo-monarchy.
