Trump and Carson Pull Away Against Their Republican Opponents
As the polls heat up, Donald Trump and Ben Carson continue to cement their lead atop the Republican Party standings. The latest poll by ABC and the Washington Post revealed Trump’s triple digit lead and Carson’s double digit lead over Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 33%
- Ben Carson – 20%
- Jeb Bush – 8%
- Ted Cruz – 7%
- Marco Rubio – 7%
Judging by the latest wave of polls, Trump and Carson are battling it out for the top spot. Bush and Walker have fallen off the map and it looks unlikely that they will recover and challenge for the presidential nomination.
Trump and Carson are starting to directly challenge each other in the media. So far, Carson has been on the defensive after Trump labelled him as incapable and a man who lacked the business sense to be president. Carson carefully responded, pointing out that his time spent working as a neurosurgeon clearly demonstrated his ability to handle pressure and to make the right decisions and that he had served in key positions at big companies for most of his career.
Both Bush and Walker are no longer relevant candidates. Walker’s media time in the recent weeks has consisted of him blaming President Barack Obama for things that have no relevance and drug tests for welfare recipients. Bush on the other hand, seems incapable of separating himself from his father and brother’s legacy. On Monday, he defended the National Security Agency and asked Americans to stop “demonizing” the agency.
Until further notice, the Republican Party will be won by either Trump or Carson.
