Trump and Clinton Lead Arizona
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are leading their respective parties according to the latest Arizona poll by Merrill Poll.
- Hillary Clinton – 50%
- Bernie Sanders – 24%
- Donald Trump – 31%
- Ted Cruz – 19%
- John Kasich – 10%
Arizona should easily go to Trump and Clinton. Both candidates appeal to the voters there in different ways. Clinton’s establishment Democrat credentials will help her appeal to centrist voters, while Trump’s intense far-right views will land him the Republican vote.
Bernie Sanders has virtually n o chance in Arizona. His progressive background will fall on deaf ears and his campaign is out of momentum. After a string of losses on Super Tuesday 3.0, Sanders has been unable to regain his earlier momentum and he is still focusing on his anti-Wall Street message, which is hurting his chances at appealing to the general electorate.
As for Ted Cruz and John Kasich, they will not win Arizona. Cruz will secure the religious vote and Kasich will land a few establishment voters, but Trump’s craziness will win out in the end. Voters are intrigued by his no-nonsense platform and they are interested in giving him a chance over some of the more mainstream and predictable candidates.
