Trump and Clinton Win an Iowa Poll
The latest poll from Iowa has placed Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in the lead of their respective parties. Still, for both candidates, their victories were shallow and their opponents are rapidly catching up.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 24%
- Ben Carson – 19%
- Carly Fiorina – 8%
- Jeb Bush – 7%
- Ted Cruz – 6%
- Marco Rubio – 6%
Which Democratic candidate would you vote for?
- Hillary Clinton – 33%
- Bernie Sanders – 28%
- Joe Biden – 22%
Trump and Clinton are struggling to maintain their leads. Both candidates have been slumping in the polls as Ben Carson and Bernie Sanders close the gap.
For Trump, Americans are catching on to his lack of knowledge on important issues and they no longer trust his blanket statements. He still appeals to fringe voters and radicals, but moderate Republicans are losing trust in him and starting to side with Carson and Rubio.
Clinton’s decline has been steady over the last month. Sanders had made majors pushes, denting her lead, and building strong support from liberal and progressive voters. In addition, Joe Biden is still a wild card and he is expected to reveal his decision to campaign this week. No one knows if he will run, but if he does, he will have a strong base of supporters who are willing to vote him based on his successful track record and overall popularity.
