Trump and Clinton Win Their Iowa Primaries
The latest poll by PPP has revealed that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have topped their respective parties. Both candidates have maintained the lead for a steady amount of time and look poised to keep the lead heading closer to their party’s official nomination vote.
Which Democrat candidate would you vote for?
- Hillary Clinton – 43%
- Bernie Sanders – 22%
- Joe Biden – 17%
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald trump – 24%
- Ben Carson – 17%
- Carly Fiorina – 13%
- Ted Cruz – 8%
- Marco Rubio – 8%
- Jeb Bush – 6%
The results for the Democrats are pretty typical. Clinton holds a 20 point lead over Sanders and Joe Biden continues to steal votes from both sides even though he hasn’t announced a presidential run. Sanders is working hard to secure more votes and he is gaining popularity, but it may be too little too late for him to overtake Clinton and lead the Democrats into the next election.
On the Republican side of things, Trump is still the king and the candidate to beat. Carson remains popular, but Carly Fiorina has started to erode his lead and both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have started to gain a few percentage points in recent polls. Jeb Bush continues to decline and appears to be a fringe candidate. Months ago, he and Scott Walker were among the top candidates, but now Walker has officially withdrawn his bid and Bush may be heading in the same direction.
