Trump and Sanders Win out in the Latest Iowa Primaries
Another day, another poll. In the latest poll by CBS and YouGov, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have topped their respective parties. In Sanders case, he handedly beat Clinton for the first time in a major poll.
Which Democrat candidate would you vote for?
- Bernie Sanders – 43%
- Hillary Clinton – 33%
- Joe Biden – 10%
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 29%
- Ben Carson – 25%
- Ted Cruz – 10%
- Marco Rubio – 6%
- Scott Walker – 5%
- Jeb Bush – 3%
This is the second time that Sanders has led the Democrats in recent polls. Clinton’s campaign will have to respond to his recent rise in the polls and recognize him as a legitimate candidate. For Clinton, this means that she will have to develop a sound plan and take a stance on the major issues that Sanders is championing. Sanders will continue to rise in the poll so long as he sticks to his platform of worker’s rights, free education, and a general call of action for middle class Americans. He is currently on a trip to the south to try and secure the African-American vote, and if successful, he could overtake Clinton in the majority of upcoming polls.
For the Republicans, Trump is still leading the pack, but Carson continues to chip away at his lead. Trump is starting to fear Carson, which is evident through his recent attacks towards him, calling him incapable, and highlighting the fact that he is a doctor, not a politician. If Carson sticks to a moderate plan, he will have no issue overtaking Trump, who continuously embarrasses himself when he discusses important issues beyond the realm of immigration.
