Trump Dominates the Pack, Clinton Remains Level with Sanders
The latest general election polls by IBC/TIPP have revealed that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton lead their respective parties.
Which Democratic candidate would you vote for?
- Hillary Clinton – 43%
- Bernie Sanders – 39%
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 34%
- Ted Cruz – 18%
- Marco Rubio – 9%
- Ben Carson – 8%
Trump’s lead over the Republicans remains solid and Ted Cruz is having trouble denting it. Other fringe candidates like Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, and Jeb Bush have remained low in the polls for a few months and seem insignificant in this polls. Candidates like Rubio or Bush could make a push based on their name recognition, but they are running out of time and need to close the gap soon.
For the Democrats, Clinton beat Sanders in this poll, but her lead is quickly evaporating and it is no longer as large as it once was. Sanders is only 4 points behind Clinton, which is a much smaller gap if you account for the poll’s margin of error.
Regardless, Sanders is pushing hard and taking the fight to Clinton’s campaign. Voters tend to believe Sanders and see him as a genuine candidate, as compared to Clinton who is often seen as a dishonest candidate.
