The latest on the presidential horse race.

Trump Dominates the Republicans, Clinton Barely Beats Sanders

The latest national poll by CBS News/NY Times has placed Donald Trump well ahead of his Republican opponents, while Hillary Clinton barely edged out Bernie Sanders.

Which Republican candidate would you vote for?

  • Donald Trump – 46%
  • Ted Cruz – 26%
  • John Kasich – 20%

Which Democratic candidate would you vote for?

  • Hillary Clinton – 50%
  • Bernie Sanders – 45%

Clinton should beat Sanders at this point. He still polls well in certain polls, but his continuous losses in various primaries will prove to be insurmountable.

Sanders is a genuine candidate, but his primary focus on the Wall Street issue alienated him from a large portion of the voting block who were disinterested in that problem, even if it affected their life in some way. The latest New York poll revealed unfavorable results for Sanders and a loss in that state will probably be the fatal blow that kills his campaign.

For the Republicans, Trump is still the candidate to beat. He continues to win all the primaries, losing only obscure ones that are more religious. Both Ted Cruz and John Kasich have no chance of topping Trump and the only way that Trump will disappear is if the Republican Party finds a way to push him out using shaky rules that they will create for the nomination process.
