Trump Falls by 5 Points to Clinton
Donald Trump continues to struggle against his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the latest poll by CNN/ORC.
Which presidential candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 42%
- Hillary Clinton – 47%
Trump has yet to catch Clinton in any of the recent polls. Her streak of dominance over Trump is well documented and seems unlikely to change anytime soon. Most of Trump’s supporters believed he would gain in the polls after the recent Orlando shooting, but in reality, Trump dropped the ball and alienated even more potential voters.
On the other side of the fence, Clinton has remained fairly neutral and has all the power to decide which policies to focus on in the future. In May, Clinton managed to raise an impressive $28 million and now has upwards of $42 million in cash in hand. With these funds, she can hammer Trump with attack ads and convince moderate Americans that she is a much safer choice than Trump.
Not mentioned in this poll is Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson who continues to steal much needed votes from Trump. If these trends continue, Trump will struggle to gain any momentum come election time and Clinton will become the next president.
