Trump Grows His Lead in the Latest CNN/ORC Poll
Donald Trump has managed to beat Hillary Clinton by 3 points in the latest CNN/ORC poll.
Which presidential candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 48%
- Hillary Clinton – 45%
With the Republican National Convention over and the Democratic National Convention set to start this weekend, expect these results to change.
Clinton is currently trailing Trump and a large part of that probably has to do with public opinion and the recent DNC scandal involving DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Throughout the primary cycle, Bernie Sanders often grilled the DNC for working against his campaign and for helping Clinton win her primaries. A few days ago, DNC emails leaked validating Sanders’ claims. Wasserman Schultz eventually resigned, but was quickly thrust back into the spotlight when Clinton immediately hired her for her campaign. Classic cronyism at its finest.
As for Trump, he holds the lead after a questionable RNC. Yet, he has all the power to choose a direction for his campaign, and with such a juicy story like the DNC leak and Clinton hiring Wasserman Schultz, expect a classic Trump response. If Trump wants to succeed as a candidate, he needs to convince undecided and moderate voters that Clinton is a bad choice for them and the only way he will accomplish this is if he can paint his lack of political experience as an advantage.
