Trump Leads the North Carolina Presidential Primary
The latest poll by Public Polling Policy has Donald Trump in the lead for the Republicans. Coming in second was Ben Carson, followed by Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz.
Who do you want to represent the Republican Party?
- Donald Trump – 24%
- Ben Carson – 14%
- Jeb Bush – 13%
- Ted Cruz – 10%
- Scott Walker – 6%
- Carly Fiorina – 6%
- Mike Huckabee – 6%
Once again, Trump is leading the Republicans. He hasn’t dropped to second place in any of the major polls in recent weeks. Carson came in behind Trump, but he was nearly 10 percent behind. Bush continues to flounder following his weak performance at the debate. In a previous poll in North Carolina, Trump was 4 percent ahead of his next opponent. However, the poll before that one had Bush ahead by 7 percent.
While Trump’s lead could change, the majority of Americans are starting to believe in him as a candidate and they respect the fact that he doesn’t pander to any specific audiences. As we’ve said previously, Trump will continue to hold the lead so long as he remains committed to the platforms he has established, no matter how radical they are.
It is unlikely that Bush or Walker will ever catch Trump as they are no longer attractive candidates to the general population. Both candidates are afraid to break from the status quo, something that Trump has been willing to do since he began his campaign.
