Trump Maintains Lead Despite Racism
Donald Trump is still the king of the Republican Party, according to the latest poll by USA Today/Suffolk.
Which Republican candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 27%
- Ted Cruz – 17%
- Marco Rubio – 16%
- Ben Carson – 10%
- Jeb Bush – 4%
Trump is somehow still in the lead for the Republican Party. On Sunday, Trump suggested that all Muslims should be banned from traveling to the United States, adding that he was following in the footsteps of FDR.
Trump received a lot of criticism for his racist rhetoric from both the media and his fellow Republican candidates, but none of this phased him and his numbers in the polls are still higher than the rest of the party.
Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio continue to hold strong in second and third. At this point, they both look like viable replacements for Trump, should he fall.
Ben Carson’s time as a top candidate is over and it is more than likely that he will continue to plummet, at which point he will drop out and move on.
Finally, Jeb Bush is a lost cause at this point. Even though he carries the Bush legacy on his shoulder, he has no chance of getting elected as he offers nothing unique to voters and is considered a bland and lifeless candidate.
