Trump Now 7 Points up on Clinton
The latest general election poll by the LA Times/USC has revealed that Donald Trump now has a 7 point lead over Hillary Clinton.
Which presidential candidate would you vote for?
- Donald Trump – 47%
- Hillary Clinton – 40%
Trump continues to pull ahead of Clinton in the polls due to the recent drama that has been surrounding Clinton and the Democratic National Committee. While Trump himself has his fair share of political blunders, the media seems content focusing on Clinton at the moment and this has helped Trump cement his lead. It remains to be seen whether or not this lead will last, but for now, Trump is relishing in it and will continue to remind Americans that he is the better choice.
This is not to say that Clinton won’t retake the lead, as she probably will in due time. However, the recent DNC email leak hurt her campaign and highlighted the deeply rooted corruption in the American political system. Clinton has been accused of corruption in the past, and the information leaked in the emails only reinforced these claims.
If Clinton wants to improve in the polls, she needs to have a strong convention, overcome the drama associated with the email leak, and distract Americans from the corruption she is involved in by proposing viable policy that actually helps her supporters.
